This policy explains how SOVU collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use sovu.co.uk, design a product online, ask for a quote or buy from us.
Who we are
In this policy, “SOVU”, “we” and “us” mean Sovu Aluminium Doors. Our address is Wynfield, Granny Lane, Lower Hopton, WF14 8LA. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

The information we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, email address, phone number and postcode.
- Project details, such as product choices, sizes, colours, drawings or photos you upload, and messages you send us.
- Order and delivery information, such as your delivery address, order history and payment status. We do not see or store full card details; payments are handled by our payment provider.
- Technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, collected through cookies and our hosting provider’s logs.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- To process, manufacture, deliver and support your order, including guarantee claims. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To keep accounting and tax records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
- To run, secure and improve our website, and to prevent fraud. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.
- To send you news and offers, but only if you have asked us to. You can unsubscribe at any time. Lawful basis: consent.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it where we need to, with:
- UK Doors Online, part of the UKO Group, who manufacture our products and provide the online designer on our Design Online page. Designs and quotes you create there are processed on their systems.
- Delivery partners, so they can deliver your order.
- Our payment provider, to take payment securely.
- Our website host (LCN) and our email and IT providers, who store data on our behalf.
- Professional advisers, and authorities where the law requires it.
All of these act under contract or legal duty to protect your information. Where any of them process data outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and quotes that do not become an order: up to 2 years from our last contact.
- Orders: 7 years after the order, to meet accounting rules and cover the guarantee period.
- Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to have it transferred to another organisation, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, email sales@sovu.co.uk. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies, which make the website and online designer work, such as remembering your design as you build it. These cannot be switched off.
- Embedded content: our Contact page shows a Google map and our Design Online page shows the UK Doors Online designer. These services may set their own cookies when you view them.
- Analytics cookies, if we add them, to understand how the site is used. We will only set these with your consent.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, such as the online designer, from working properly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last changed at the top.
