What is a tilt and turn window?
It opens two ways: the top tilts inwards for secure ventilation, or the whole sash swings inwards like a door.
Are they secure?
Yes. They’re PAS 24 compliant, and in tilt mode the window stays locked at the sides.
Can they be used as fire escapes?
Yes. When fully turned open they give a large clear opening. Check your sizes against Building Regulations for escape windows.
